In an innovative collaboration, the Yimyu Ward Sanitation Committee teamed up with the Yimyu Baptist Church to host a thought-provoking awareness programme on Sanitation. Held under the inspiring theme “Wash Yourselves, Make Yourselves Clean (Isaiah 1:16),” the programme featured an enlightening speech by the esteemed Theme speaker, Akok Walling.

Addressing the congregation, Akok Walling emphasised the importance of a clean soul and morality, drawing wisdom from the biblical verse Isaiah 1:16. He lauded the Sanitation Committee for organising such a programme, emphasising that the essence of cleanliness needs to be instilled in all aspects of life, including spiritual and physical well-being.

The event delved into the significance of holistic cleanliness, encompassing the soul, life, and health, as urged by 1 Thessalonians chapter 5, verse 23. Akok Walling urged the attendees to prioritise their health and recognise the connection between physical and spiritual cleanliness.

With compelling examples from the past and the present, he highlighted the relevance of sanitation in today’s world, especially in the wake of the COVID pandemic. From domestic to agricultural waste, he stressed the need to rid oneself of all unnecessary baggage that hampers a healthy life and spirit.

Aolepden, Chairman of the Sanitation Committee, extended a warm welcome to all participants and underlined the importance of embracing a healthy lifestyle. He expressed the Committee’s determination to foster a cleaner ward while encouraging the public to actively support their efforts.

The programme also witnessed an engaging painting competition organised by the Child Department of Yimyu Baptist Church in collaboration with the Sanitation Committee, where prizes were awarded to talented young artists.

Puryapang Pastor Yimyu Baptist Church offered a heartfelt prayer, invoking blessings upon the Sanitation Committee for their unwavering commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier environment.
