The District Employment Exchange/Model Career Centre Mokokchung conducted an outreach programme on career talks held at ITI, Mokokcung, on October 12, 2023.

The District Employment Exchange/Model Career Centre successfully conducted an outreach programme on career talk and promoting the National Career Service on Oct. 12, 2 2023, at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Mokokchung. The event was aimed at empowering students and promoting self-reliance through career guidance and information.

At the outset of the programme, ITI Principal, Mokokchung, Er. Imlisunep, addressed the participants with inspiring words, setting the tone for the day’s discussion. While commending the ITI for its invaluable contribution to vocational education, the District Employment Officer (DEO) encouraged the students to make informed career choices. He also stated the latest statistics on unemployment in the state as of June 2023. The data reveals that Nagaland unemployment figures remain a matter of concern, with approximately 70,218 individuals seeking employment opportunities.

The highlights of the event were the Career Talk session and the promotion of National Career Service (NCS) Yapang Jamir, a young professional from the Model Career Centre in Mokokcung affiliated with the Ministry of Labour and Employment under the NCS project.

He also shared insights into the various services provided by the national career service, offering students a roadmap to achieving self-independence after the completion of their ITI courses.

The approximately 82 students enthusiastically attended the seminar, engaging in meaningful discussions and gaining valuable insights into their future career prospects. The event underscored the commitment of the district employment exchange and model Career Centre Mokokcung to facilitating the career growth and self-reliance of the youth in the Mokokcung district.

The outreach programme on Career Talk and Promotion of National Career Service highlighted the importance of informed career choices and the role of NCS in empowering youth to shape their future. The District Employment Exchange/Model Career Centre looks forward to organising more such events to support the career aspirations of the students in the district.
