Mokokchung, 25th Nov (Nokinketer.com): The valedictory programme for the three-day intensive training for Animal Health Service Providers for Angetyongpang Area, organised by the Angetyongpang Development Board (ADB) in collaboration with the office of the Chief A.H. and Veterinary Officer Mokokcung, was held at the Conference Hall, State Poultry Farm, Mokokchung, on November 25, 2023.
Dr. B.M. Sunep, Chief A.H. and Vety Officer, Mokokchung, deliberated the commendation note, which mentioned that this training was the first of its kind in the state where an elected legislator took the initiative to impart technical training for the farmers in his constituency. He also said that with the occurrence of such economically dreaded diseases as African swine fever, for which there is no vaccine or treatment, and classical swine fever, it has become imperative that each village has at least a couple of animal health service providers so that knowledge on the importance of maintaining biosecurity measures is given to the villages and other preventive measures are adopted before the disease strikes.
This will also help them gain self-employment and even start their own livestock farming in a much better way. The member of the ADB Mokokcung unit, Imlitoshi Walling, while sharing his words of appreciation, acknowledged and thanked the department of A.H. and Very. Mokokcung for their sincerity and hard work to impart practical inputs to the trainees and also to the Hon’ble Leader for the noble initiative taken.
Trainee Alinungsang shared the experiences on behalf of all the trainees and acknowledged their gratitude for the apportionment and privilege given to them to attend such a training. The resource persons for the 3-day training programme were Dr. Watitoshi VAS and Dr. Nemjemyanger, FM.
It is worth mentioning that this noble venture of forming the ADB is the brainchild of Tongpang Ozukum, Hon’ble MLA and Advisor, Water Resource to the GoN, with the vision to uplift the economic conditions of the people through various training programmes, of which the first step is taken in this regard. During this 3-day intensive programme, altogether 42 persons from the area were trained by the team of officers from A.H. and Very Dept. These trainees will provide services in their respective village and ward under the active supervision of the Veterinary Department in the district. The programme was chaired by Dr. Nemjemyanger, while DPRO Mokokchung gave away the certificates to the trainees.
