The Mokokchung Monthly District Planning and Development Board’s (DPDB) cum work distribution for the coming Republic Day Celebration meeting was held on January 16, 2024, at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall in Mokokchung.

Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman, Mokokchung DPDB Thsuvisie Phoji, chaired the meeting. In his opening remarks, the Chairman maintained that the calendar year will be an engaging one as the members, along with their normal official duties, will be assigned duties for the forthcoming parliamentary election. In this regard, he called upon all the members for their full cooperation. He also informed all the HoDs who have yet to submit the employee list under their office to do so at the earliest.

ADC Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtosoe, informed the members during the meeting on the issues related to the town graveyard and waste dumping site. He informed me that due to the lack of space for new burials at the present site and the problem of identifying new burial locations, a committee has been set up to look into the matter. Regarding the problem related to the waste disposal site, he mentioned that MMC has taken up a plan of action to contain the problems, and he also called for more awareness on kitchen waste management.

The Board also decided to recommend the registration of the Tuli Area Truck Union to the concerned authority. The Deputy Commissioner requested all the departments for their cooperation and to carry out the work assigned to their respective departments for the successful conduct of the Republic Day celebration.
