DC, Mokokchung Thsuvisie Phoji, during the meeting of the Nodal Officers for Enforcement Agencies for the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024, at DC’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung, on February 29, 2024. 

A one-day training of nodal officers for enforcement agencies for the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024, was held on February 29th, 2024, at DC Office Conference Hall, Mokokcung. The sitting was presided over by Mr. Thsuvisie Phoji, Deputy Commissioner, and District Election Officer Mokokcung. 

During the training session of the nodal officers from various departments, the Deputy Commissioner emphasised the urgency of the preparedness of the elections and urged enhanced cooperation and coordination amongst the officers.

Mr. Renben Mozhui, Assistant Election Officer, Mokokcung, also briefed the attendees. He issued directives to key security stakeholders, urging heightened vigilance, particularly along the borders. The Excise Department was tasked with enforcing regulations on liquor stocking and distribution, with a mandate to eradicate illicit alcohol production. He also entrusted the department to combat narcotics smuggling along the border.

In an attempt to control any illicit financial flows, the AEO called upon the Taxes Department to closely monitor suspected conduits for election-related cash influxes.
