The Nagaland CCA Forum (NCCAF) with Kenono Foundation, LEMSACHENLOK, Kalpavriksh, North East Network, and the Nature Conservancy will be organising a two-day Nagaland CCA Meet on June 19–20 on the theme “Camaraderie towards Safeguarding Our Biodiversity.”

The meeting will bring together diverse stakeholders, including CCAs from different parts of Nagaland, government officials, and NGOs.

The two-day event aims to highlight the vision, scope of engagement, experiences, and learnings of the various collaborative projects of NCCAF, according to Ruchinilo Kemp, co-convenor of the meet.

He also informed us that the meeting will facilitate networking among and foster solidarity among the Nagaland CCAs and create awareness and capacity building among CCAs on relevant topics related to biodiversity conservation.

The meet will also feature walk-in exhibitions from various CCAs, which will showcase and create awareness of the bio-cultural diversity of the CCA landscapes and biodiversity, and build visibility of the diverse initiatives of NCCAF, CCAs in Nagaland, and CCA-supporting organisations for cross-learning and to inspire actions.

Another co-convenor of the meet, Y. Nuklu Phom, also added that the meet will have technical and experience-sharing sessions and a cultural programme. The event will be a plastic-free event where all NCCAF-registered CCAs and CCAs in Nagaland will participate.

Some of the topics for the technical and experience sharing sessions will include research, community-led biodiversity surveys and monitoring, the synergy between conservation management plans and enterprises/financial Social equity, carbon mechanisms, community reserves, and legal and policy issues in Nagaland.

The meeting will be held at Clark Theological College, Aolijen, Mokokchung.
