The Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Meeting for the month of August & September 2024 was held today, 4th Sept. 2024, at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Speaker NLA & Chairman DPDB Mokokchung, Sharingain Longkumer.
The Chairman informed that besides the Coaching Centre “Shisalen Riju,” which was started with the initiatives of DPDB Mokokchung, DPDB Mokokchung would again take initiatives in 3 sectors by procuring an ambulance with a life support system, installing a 5-matricton cold storage at the MMC complex, taking concern for the environment, and in support of no use of plastic, a banana stem fibre bag-producing machine would be installed, he added.
While reviewing the last meeting minutes, the house deliberated on the new project of upgrading IMDH, which has been delayed. It was decided that an urgent meeting would be held with the department concern and the contractor to find out the reason for completion of the project. DEO Mokokchung, while giving the status report of capital assets of the department, also informed the house that construction of the auditorium, library, and laboratory at MGHSS, which was started way back in 2014, has not been completed till now. On this matter, the Chairman DPDB asked the DEO Mokokchung to give a detailed report within two weeks for further action.
In the meeting, 10 departments gave the status report of capital assets, while the remaining departments were informed to give the same in the next DPDB meeting.
For society’s registration, R/o Shalom Education and Charitable Trust, Tuli, Melongtet Initiative, Kobulong, Mokokchung, and Naga Hills Farmers Federation Society, Mokokchung were approved and forwarded. The agenda put forward by the principal ICIT, Mokokchung, for the change of nomenclature from ICIT, Mokokchung, to Government Polytechnic, Mokokchung, was also approved and forwarded.
