The celebration program of the 75th year of the Mokokchung District Bharat Scouts and Guides (BS & G) was held on October 25, 2024, at P. Shilu Ao Memorial Park, Mokokchung, with Hon’ble Minister R.D. & SIRD, Govt. of Nagaland, Metsubo Jamir, as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest maintained that the Scouts & Guides movement is one of an unwavering commitment to carry the values instilled, which are loyalty, courage, kindness, and integrity, which are the very fabric of our lives. As Scouts & Guides, your responsibilities are defined by your willingness to be an example in our communities through your commitment and scrifies to learn and instill these values in others for collective impact on our society, he added.
He went on to say that the challenges and responsibilities of youths in the present world are many and complex, so your participation as a member of the Scouts & Guides movement will enable you to be a responsible citizen and leader to overcome the challenges and create a brighter future for our society.
Earlier, in the program, a welcome address was shared by Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung & President Mokokchung District Bharat Scouts & Guides Thsuvisie Phoji, and short speeches were delivered by V.K. Shah, State Commissioner (S) Nagaland State Bharat Scouts & Guides, Sentinenla, DEO & DCC (G) Mokokchung, and Moajenba, Former Scout. A historical account of Mokokchung District BS & G was presented by Lipomar Lkr DOC (S) during the program. BS & G of Ladybird School present a special item marking the occasion. The program was chaired by Sentimenla, ADOC (G). The invocation was pronounced by Rev. Ponen Longchar, Pastor MTBA, and the benediction prayer by Rev. Talijungla, Asso. Pastor UBA.
On the occasion, the chief guest also released the jubilee souvenir in the presence of a host of government officials and state BS & G officials from other districts. District BS & G officials and Scouts & guides from schools under Mokokchung district.
