In a momentous occasion for the community and its leadership, Longlam village under Mon district witnessed the coronation of His Excellency, Wangtun Wanmei, as the new Angh on the 10th of June 2025.
At just 25 years of age, Wangtun Wanmei is the youngest Angh in Longlam’s recorded history and is said to be among the youngest Anghs in the Konyak area.
Chief Angh of Wangla, Leiwang: Hongphoi Angh, Manto; Lapa Angh, Tinwang; and Oting Angh, Tahwang, spoke during the coronation ceremony. Peiwang Konyak exhorted the gathering, and Pastor LBC, Phuhlem, blessed the coronation ceremony of the new Angh.
The event was attended by the villagers & Anghs of neighbouring villages and concluded with a community feast.
