The attention of the All Ward Union Mokokchung Town (AWUMT) has been drawn to the news report published by Mokokchung Times on July 12, 2025, titled, “When development becomes a lie: Inside Mokokchung’s LADP files.” Consequently, the AWUMT, in its Presidential Council meeting held on July 22, deliberated on the matter raised in the news report and took cognizance of the seriousness of the issue.

It was resolved that, henceforth, all Local Area Development Program (LADP) and other developmental works carried out in the 18 wards of Mokokchung town must be undertaken in consultation with the respective local ward authorities.

Further, it was resolved that the authorities responsible for the supervision and issuance of completion certificates for LADP and other development works in the 18 wards of Mokokchung town must act with sincerity. Any discrepancies arising later will be the sole responsibility of the issuing authority.

The AWUMT reiterates that all LADP and other development works in the 18 wards of Mokokchung town are for the benefit of the people. As such, the local ward authorities, being the immediate stakeholders, must be taken into confidence.
