
Mokokchung, 4th Oct (nokinketer.in): Marepkong Baptist Arogo Christian Education Ministry successfully organized a two-day life skill development program on the 1st & 2nd October 2025. The program was designed for children aged 9-15 years with the aim of equipping them with practical skills to prepare for the future.
The main objectives of the training were to address issues of unemployment and limited job opportunities, help children earn pocket money and reduce over-dependence on parents, promote self-reliance and independence at an early age, encourage self-employment by introducing them to different creative skills, and build awareness on the importance of life skills for personal and professional growth.
During the program, participants were given hands-on training in accessories making, crochet, wooden artifacts, and sewing.The initiative was headed by the Christian Education Director, Mrs Imnaienla, with instructors drawn from Christian educators and two church members. In total, 82 children participated, guided by 15 teachers throughout the sessions.
The workshop was marked as a resounding success, leaving a lasting impact on the children, who not only gained new skills but also developed confidence in becoming more independent and creative in their daily lives.
