Mokokchung, 02 November 2025 (www.nokinketer.in): The Tzüla Green Zone Project (TGZP) successfully organized the River Angling Festival 1.0 on 31st October and 1st November 2025 at the scenic Tzüla River, Mokokchung. The two-day event brought together anglers, artists, and nature lovers in a vibrant celebration of river life, sustainable fishing, and environmental awareness.
The angling competition saw enthusiastic participation, with the following winners:
•Biggest Catch: Lolenpenba
•Most Catches: Toshilemba
•Senior Angler Award: Imkongchuba (59 years)
•Junior Angler Award: Marlong Jamir (5 years)
Alongside the main event, a painting competition was also held to encourage creativity and environmental expression among young artists. The winners were:
•1st Prize: Limana Ozukum
•2nd Prize: Watimenla
•3rd Prize: Menagyangla
All participants and winners of the painting competition were students from Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung.
The River Angling Festival 1.0 was organized with the objective of promoting eco-tourism, responsible angling, and river conservation as part of TGZP’s broader initiative to protect and preserve the Tzüla River ecosystem.
The organizers extended heartfelt appreciation to all participants, partners, and volunteers for their active involvement and support in making the event a success.
