Mokokchung, 24th January, 2026 (www.nokinketer.in): Pursuant to the decision and approval of the State Level Education Committee (SLEC) in its meeting held on 19th December, 2025, provisional permission is granted for the opening of 23 (twenty-three) new private schools listed under, subject to the following conditions: that the schools shall fulfil all the laid-down criteria stipulated in the guidelines notified by the Department of School Education vide Notification No. DSE/MISC/NEWSCHOOLS/12-115/2017/620 dated 30-10-2018 within a period of 2 (two) years.  It shall also be subject to fulfilment/adherence to the guidelines/regulations on standards of schools, including recognition or derecognition/accreditation as mandated under the Nagaland State School Standards Authority (NSSSA).

The notification shall be effective from the date of issue of this Notification.

Pursuant to the decision and approval of the State Level Education Committee (SLEC) in its meeting held on 19th December, 2025, Merger/Amalgamation of 17 (seventeen) Government Schools (GHS/GMS/GPS) listed below are notified based on the verification Report/recommendations of the Departmental Officers/stakeholders.

The Merger/Amalgamation shall be effective from the current academic year, i.e., 2026-2027.

The School buildings vacated on account of Merger/Amalgamation shall be continue to be the property of the School Education Department, Government of Nagaland and shall be utilised for educational purposes as hostels, teachers’ quarters or other scholastic purposes.

Pursuant to the decision of the State Level Education Committee (SLEC) in its meeting held on 19th December, 2025, amalgamation of 2 (Two) Government Primary Schools/Government Middle Schools issued vide Notification No.DSE/ESTT/SLEC/21-14/2021/413 dated 27-11-2024 and down-gradation of 1 (one) Government School (GMS to GPS), issued vide Notification No.DSE/ESTT/SLEC/21- 14/2021/413 dated 27-11-2024 are hereby revoked:

Revocation of Amalgamation of Government Schools-

  1. Revocation of the merger of GPS Industry Colony with GPS Meluri Town.
  2. Revocation of the merger of middle section of GPS/GMS Kandinu Upper with GHS Kandinu.

Revocation of Down-gradation of Government School-

  1. Revocation of the down-gradation of GMS Yongkhao to GPS Yongkhao.

This notification shall be effective with immediate effect.
