Mokokchung, 30th March, 2026 (nokinketernews): In view of the forthcoming by-election to the 28 Koridang A/C, the Mokokchung District administration has conducted a Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) cum coordination meeting with the Longkhum Village Council on 30th March 2026 at Longkhum Village.

Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, during his interaction emphasized on the great authority and greater responsibilities of the village council to guide the community in all socio-political activities that can take the village ahead. To this effect, he maintained that to create a peaceful atmosphere for the conduct of the coming bye-election, the village council, as an authorized institution of the government, has great responsibilities to bring about changes through guidance and awareness among the masses. He also reiterated that the electioneering machinery will be constantly coordinating with the council to ensure peaceful, free, and fair conduct in the election process.

After the awareness program, Deputy Commissioner & DEO, along with the official, inspected all the polling stations in the village.
