Mokokchung Town Baptist Church held a football coaching clinic, which commenced from June 19 to July 8, 2023. The coaching clinic was held for three weeks. It was held for young players from 10 to 14 years of age, both boys and Girls. The Coaching clinic was held in three categories: 10–12 years, 13–14 years, and a different category for girls.

The Coaching clinic was held under the aegis of the Mokokchung District Football Association (MDFA). The coaching clinic was held as a mission beyond the pulpit. The Mokokchung Town Baptist Church’s Youth Department aimed to nurture talents who could later make it big in the field of football.

The coaching clinic had an enrollment of 134 young aspiring players, out of whom 96 (80 boys and 16 girls) made it till the end. They were mentored by 12 certified coaches.

The closing programme of the Coaching clinic was graced by Colonel Rahul Gurung, Kirti Chakra, Commandant, 12th Assam Rifles. While addressing the gathering, the Guest of Honour appreciated the parents support for their children’s passion. He emphasised discipline as the essence of a sports player. He also appreciated the noble initiation of the Mokokchung Town Baptist Church’s Youth Department for nurturing the young talents in the beautiful game of football.

The Youth Department made a special mention of the 12th Assam Rifles, led by the Commandant, The Mokokchung District Football Association, the church, and the parents for making the Coaching Clinic a great success.
