Mokokchung, 15th May, 2026 (Nokinketer News): In a bid to ensure uninterrupted fuel supply and equitable distribution across the district, Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma (IAS) has issued a binding order for all retail outlets under the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
The directive mandates that every fuel station must maintain a minimum reserve stock of 2,000 litres of Diesel and 1,500 litres of Petrol at all times to meet emergency requirements.
Warning of strict action under the Prevention of Black-marketing Act, 1980, the DC prohibited the hoarding or illegal diversion of fuel stocks. Outlets are instructed to dispense fuel in a fair and transparent manner.
Additionally, station managers must maintain updated stock registers and submit daily reports to the District Administration when required. The public has been advised against panic buying or unnecessary stockpiling, with the administration assuring that adequate fuel stocks are available and these measures are purely precautionary.
