Addressing the meeting, Jamir said the objective of the DISHA meeting was to review the achievements and challenges faced by various departments in implementing government schemes and development projects in the district. He encouraged members to raise issues and concerns without hesitation so that they could be addressed effectively.

As part of the review, the Departments of Agriculture, Water Resources, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, and Labour made detailed PowerPoint presentations on their activities and progress in the district.

Following the presentation by the Department of Agriculture, Jamir proposed the establishment of a cold storage facility in Niuland to support agricultural produce and reduce post-harvest losses. After deliberations, he asked the district administration to prepare a clear roadmap for setting up the facility.

The MP also held extensive discussions with officials of the Water Resources, Agriculture, Veterinary and Labour departments on various sectoral issues and development prospects.

During the meeting, the potential of the dairy sector in the district also came under discussion. Stating that dairy products have a vast market potential, Jamir urged the concerned department to re-examine and strengthen dairy farming initiatives in the district.

On the issue of poor network and communication connectivity in Niuland, Jamir assured the members that he would pursue the matter with the concerned authorities to seek an appropriate solution.
