Friday, July 3, 2026 (Nokinketer News): The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Peren district was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall on Friday to review the implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and developmental activities in the district.

Chairing the meeting, Lok Sabha MP and DISHA Chairperson for Nagaland, S. Supongmeren Jamir, said the meeting aimed to assess the progress made since the previous review, identify implementation challenges and ensure the effective delivery of government programmes.

He said the forum provided an opportunity for officials and members to discuss issues objectively, emphasising that the purpose was not to criticise departments but to improve the implementation of development projects. Jamir noted that communication gaps and delays in project sanctions at the Central level often affected timely execution in the State. He assured that issues and recommendations raised during the meeting would be forwarded to the concerned Ministries, while matters requiring national-level intervention would be taken up in Parliament and with the respective Ministries.

PowerPoint presentations on departmental activities and the implementation of various schemes were made by Farm Manager, PBC Jalukie, Dr. Suiyipeube Mpom; Senior Inspector, Labour Department, Kevilhoubei Theünuo; and District Agriculture Officer, Dr. Zieleigai Ndang. Following the presentations, the MP, Deputy Commissioner and committee members sought clarifications and offered suggestions to strengthen programme implementation.

The committee also deliberated on several issues relating to the overall development of Peren district.

Earlier, Deputy Commissioner, Peren, welcomed the MP and his team, nominated non-official members, chairmen of New Peren Village, Kejanglwa Village and Old Chalkot Village, and district officials attending the meeting.
