Mokokchung, 4th July, 2026 (Nokinketer News): A district-level Orientation-cum-Meeting on the People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) for preparation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) 2026–27 was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung, on July 3.

Delivering the keynote address, Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, said the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) was a participatory, inclusive and convergent planning process that required the active involvement of all stakeholders. He urged all line departments to work in close coordination to ensure effective implementation of government schemes for holistic, need-based, and sustainable village development.

Highlighting the crucial role of line departments in the planning process, Verma called upon every department to contribute its schemes, programs, technical expertise, and available resources through a convergent approach so that development plans effectively address the priorities and aspirations of villages.

District Program Manager (RGSA), DRDA Mokokchung, Imchatemsula Changkiri, made a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation on the People’s Plan Campaign, highlighting the importance of inclusive planning, community participation, transparency, and convergence in the preparation of GPDPs.

During the interactive session, participants reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-departmental convergence for the effective preparation and implementation of Gram Panchayat Development Plans.

The program was chaired by Project Director, DRDA Mokokchung, Imyapangla, who, in her concluding remarks, said that while the Rural Development Department served as the nodal department for the People’s Plan Campaign, the success of the GPDP depended on the active participation, coordination, and ownership of all line departments. She urged all departments to continue working in close convergence to ensure effective and inclusive planning at the grassroots level.
