
Kohima, 17th August 2026 (Nokinketer News): Nagaland governor Nand Kishore Yadav, along with officers and staff of the Governor’s Secretariat, Lok Bhavan, paid solemn tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his eighth death anniversary and former Nagaland governor La. Ganesan on his first death anniversary on August 16.
The governor and the staff recalled with deep respect and gratitude the contributions of the two leaders to public service and the nation, remembering their dedication, commitment to public life and enduring legacies.
Paying homage to Vajpayee, they described him as one of India’s most respected statesmen and parliamentarians whose visionary leadership, eloquence, statesmanship and unwavering commitment to democratic values left a lasting impact on the nation. They said his contributions to India’s development, national unity and global standing continue to inspire generations.
Tributes were also paid to La. Ganesan, the 21st governor of Nagaland. His simplicity, humility and dedicated service to the nation and the people of Nagaland were fondly remembered. The gathering also recalled his warmth, affection for the people and commitment to public service, which left a lasting impression during his tenure as governor.
