

Mokokchung, 19th August 2026 (Nokinketer News): A one-day workshop on the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative for coffee was held at Sangtemla Community Hall, Mokokchung, on Aug 19 under the theme “Branding, Packaging and Marketing.” The programme was organised by the District Industries Centre (DIC), Mokokchung, to promote local coffee, encourage entrepreneurship and improve market access for producers.
Mokokchung DC, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, who attended the programme as the special guest, said the Ministry of Commerce and Industry launched the ODOP initiative to transform local products into nationally and internationally recognised brands. Commending DIC for organising the workshop, he urged coffee farmers and producers to focus on quality, value addition, certification and market readiness to establish Mokokchung coffee as a recognised global brand.
During the technical session, Principal, GITI Mokokchung, Er. T. Imlisunep Ao spoke on marketing opportunities and channels. Atipong Aier, CEO of Aier Bakery and co-owner of Body Balance, shared insights on branding and packaging strategies, while Aliamoa S. Longkumer, proprietor of Mascot Store & Café, spoke on coffee branding and packaging. The workshop concluded with an interactive session, providing participants an opportunity to engage with the resource persons on issues related to coffee production and marketing.
The inaugural session was chaired by Inspector of Industries, DIC Mokokchung, Renbenthung Kikon, while General Manager, DIC Mokokchung, B. Asangla, delivered the welcome address.
