Dimapur, 19th August 2026 (Nokinketer News): The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), Dimapur, reviewed the implementation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes and flagship programmes at its meeting held at the DC’s Conference Hall here on August 19 under the chairmanship of Lok Sabha MP S. Supongmeren Jamir.

The committee reviewed the progress of schemes being implemented by different departments and discussed measures for their effective execution. Jamir stressed the need for regular monitoring, better inter-departmental coordination and timely implementation to ensure that government benefits reached the intended beneficiaries.

During the meeting, the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) informed that toilets were being constructed under various programmes while awareness campaigns and Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities on sanitation and hygiene were also being carried out.

The Social Welfare Department said details of beneficiaries under the old-age pension scheme had been submitted to the government, while the School Education Department informed that school inspections had been conducted and proposals based on identified requirements were forwarded to the government.

The Lead Bank reported that training programmes for educated unemployed youth would be organised shortly to enhance skill development and employment opportunities. The Medical Department also briefed the committee on its ongoing training programmes and awareness campaigns.

The District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) informed that verification of job cards and awareness activities were continuing.

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services made a presentation on various livestock development schemes, including the National Livestock Mission-Entrepreneurship Development Programme (NLM-EDP). It informed that of the 100 projects sanctioned in Nagaland, 14 were in Dimapur, comprising 12 piggery, one poultry and one sheep and goat project. The department also highlighted livestock insurance, vaccination drives, disease surveillance, mobile veterinary units and the Rashtriya Gokul Mission.

The Labour Department presented various welfare schemes under the Nagaland Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (NBOCWWB), including tool grants, education assistance, maternity benefits, loss-of-earning compensation and life insurance. It informed that 2,431 construction workers have been registered in Dimapur district and also briefed the meeting on the e-SHRAM portal for unorganised workers.

The District Agriculture Office highlighted the progress of several flagship schemes, including PM-KISAN, National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF), National Food Security and Nutrition Mission (NFSNM), National Mission on Edible Oil-Oil Palm (NMEO-OP), PMKSY, Rainfed Area Development (RAD) and Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY).

According to the department, 2,928 beneficiaries have been registered under PM-KISAN in Dimapur and Kuhuboto. It also reported 100 per cent achievement under NMNF, NFSNM, PMKSY and RAD targets, while 42 oil palm growers covering 70 hectares have been brought under NMEO-OP. RKVY activities included pest management, marketing support, promotion of traditional crops and agro-forestry.
