Mokokchung, 19th August 2026 (Nokinketer News): Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Dharam Raj, IAS, has issued a travel advisory following road damage caused by a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall along NH-702A on the Zunheboto–Mokokchung road at New Colony.

According to the advisory issued on August 19, the affected stretch will remain temporarily closed until further orders.

In view of the closure, all heavy vehicles, including loaded trucks and pick-up vehicles, as well as light and commercial vehicles travelling between Zunheboto and Mokokchung, have been diverted via the Old Mokokchung Road/Check Post Road.

The district administration has urged commuters to strictly follow the traffic diversion, obey road signage, and comply with the instructions of officials deployed at the site.
