Mokokchung, 20th Aug 2026 (Nokinketer News): Lok Sabha MP S. Supongmeren Jamir on Thursday visited the landslide-affected stretch of National Highway-702A at New Colony, Zunheboto, to assess the extent of the damage and review the situation.

The MP was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Dharam Raj, IAS, and other district officials.

During the inspection, Jamir interacted with families affected by the landslide and took stock of the hardships faced by the residents. He assured them of all possible assistance and support.

He also inspected the damaged section of the highway and held discussions with the accompanying officials on measures required to address the situation. Stressing the need for timely intervention, Jamir emphasised that necessary steps should be taken to ensure the safety of residents as well as commuters using the highway.
