Mokokchung, 1st October 2026 (Nokinketer News): Mokokchung Athletics will conduct selection trials for eligible athletes of Mokokchung district for participation in the Nagaland State and Para Games (NSPG) 2026 and the 20th National Inter-District Junior Athletics Meet (NIDJAM) 2026 on October 10 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung.
Athletes are required to report at 7:00 am, with the registration fee fixed at ₹100 per athlete. The trials will also serve as the 2nd Mokokchung District Junior Athletics Meet 2026, which will be used to identify and shortlist promising junior athletes for the 20th NIDJAM, scheduled to be held from November 14 to 16 at Woxsen University, Kamkole, Sadasivpet, Hyderabad, Telangana.
For the Nagaland State and Para Games, the trials will cover track and field events including 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m & 10,000m, besides long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, discus throw, javelin throw, 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, 4x400m mixed relay and cross country.
An athlete may participate in a maximum of two individual events, two team events and the cross-country event. Only athletes possessing a valid Athletics Federation of India (AFI) UID number will be eligible.
For the NIDJAM selection, the junior trials will be conducted in the Under-14 and Under-16 categories. Under-14 athletes must be born between November 17, 2012 and November 16, 2014, while Under-16 athletes must be born between November 17, 2010 and November 16, 2012. Athletes below 12 years of age will not be eligible.
Under-14 participants will compete in triathlon groups comprising 60m, long jump and high jump (scissor) under Triathlon A; 60m, long jump and 600m under Triathlon B; and 60m, long jump and 600m under Triathlon C. Kids Javelin Throw with a five-metre runway will be mandatory for all Under-14 athletes.
The Under-16 events will include 60m, 80m, 600m, high jump (scissor only), long jump with a five-metre approach, standing shot put (3kg) and javelin throw (600g for boys and 500g for girls).
Participants must possess a valid AFI UID number, with AFI registration and online entry to be completed within the stipulated period.
