Mokokchung, 2nd October 2026 (Nokinketer News): Adventure and Motorsports Association Mokokchung (AMAM) driver Along Arai (Khenglubo Newmai) and navigator Vignesh Mahalingam secured the top spot in the Amateur CL2 Class in the Adventure TSD category at the 6th edition of the JK Tyre Rally of the Himalayas 2026.
Representing AMAM, the duo emerged on top in one of Asia’s most demanding rally events, negotiating challenging terrain and rapidly changing road conditions across Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh.
The rally began on September 26 at Manali in Himachal Pradesh and concluded on September 30 at Padum in Zanskar, Ladakh.
The competitors traversed the Spiti and Lahaul valleys before entering Zanskar through the Shinkhula Pass. The route featured varied and demanding conditions, including snow, mud and tarmac sections, testing the drivers and navigators throughout the event.
Over 144 cars and motorcycles from different parts of the country participated in the rally across the Extreme, Moto and TSD categories.
The 6th edition of the JK Tyre Rally of the Himalayas was organised by Himalayan X-Treme Motorsports.
The achievement marks a notable performance for the Mokokchung-based motorsport association and adds to the growing presence of Nagaland participants in national-level motorsport events.
