Mokokchung, 2nd October 2026 (Nokinketer News): A Special Gram Sabha for the preparation of the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) 2027–28 under the “Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas” initiative for RD Block Ongpangkong (North), Mokokchung, was held at the Rural Assembly Hall, Ungma Village, on Oct 2. The programme also marked the launch of the Reform Utsav campaign.

Ajay Moktan, IAS, SDO(C), Mokokchung, officially launched the Reform Utsav campaign and encouraged the community to actively participate in the GPDP planning process by identifying and prioritising local development needs.

Addressing the gathering, Moktan urged citizens to share their suggestions and feedback under Reform Utsav, emphasising that community participation would help translate local needs into practical and citizen-centric administrative reforms. He also highlighted the role of public participation in improving service delivery and strengthening accountability.

The programme was attended by Heads of Departments and officials from various line departments, including Rural Development, PHE, Agriculture, Health & Family Welfare, Social Welfare, Fisheries, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Education, Employment, Land Records & Survey, Urban Development, Planning and DIPR.

As part of the programme, presentations on various government schemes and services were delivered by the departments of Rural Development, Social Welfare, Agriculture, Health & Family Welfare and PHE. The presentations covered major schemes and programmes being implemented by the respective departments, along with updates on the status of projects and services in the district.

A key feature of the programme was the Jan Samvad – People’s Consultation, led by Imyapangla, Project Director, DRDA Mokokchung. The consultation provided a platform for citizens to interact directly with Heads of Departments and officials on issues relating to public grievances, access to government schemes and services, delivery of benefits and ongoing development activities.

Citizens also shared their feedback and suggestions during the interaction, providing inputs on local development priorities and public service delivery.
