Mokokchung, 9th October 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Late Adinno Z. Phizo, President of the Naga National Council (NNC) and eldest daughter of late Naga national leader A.Z. Phizo. She passed away in Kohima on October 8, 2026, at the age of 93.

In a condolence message, AKM said Adinno Z. Phizo devoted her life to carrying forward the responsibilities entrusted to her in the Naga national movement. Following the death of her father in 1990, she assumed the leadership of the NNC and remained committed to upholding its political stand and the aspirations of the Naga people.

The Conference stated that her commitment, perseverance and dedication to the cause she represented would remain an enduring part of Naga history. Her demise, it added, marks the end of a significant chapter in Naga political leadership.

AKM joined the Naga people in mourning her passing and extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved family, relatives and members of the NNC.

The Conference prayed for strength and comfort for all those affected by the loss and wished eternal peace for the departed soul.
