Mokokchung, 3rd November 2026 (Nokinketer News): Five Ao organisations have resolved to continue their agitation over staffing issues at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung, with further escalation scheduled following a public rally on Nov 16.
The decision was taken during a joint meeting of the Ao Senden, Watsü Mungdang, Ao Students’ Conference (AKM), Ao Lanur Telungjem (ALT) and All Ward Union Mokokchung Town held at Aor Kilem.
As part of the ongoing agitation involving the closure of the Chief Medical Officer’s Office, Mokokchung, the organisations have decided to allow a three-day relaxation from Nov 5 to 7 on humanitarian grounds to facilitate child immunisation and medication services.
The meeting further resolved that all detachment and joining reports must be completed by Nov 13, following the 14-day period provided under the Health and Family Welfare Department notification No. MED-3A/1/2006(PT)/696, dated October 30, 2026, for the completion of handing over and taking over.
The organisations stated that failure to complete the process within the stipulated timeframe would lead to further escalation of the agitation, which will be preceded by a public rally in Mokokchung town on Nov 16.
The agitation stems from the organisations’ demands concerning staffing arrangements at IMDH, Mokokchung, and is set to continue until the stipulated demands are met.
