Wednesday, 3rd June, 2026 (Nokinketer News): In an effort to promote football and unite sports enthusiasts across the district, the Mon District Football Association (MDFA) organized a special exhibition match titled “Football for Peace.” The match was played between Aizawl FC and Mon XI on June 2, 2026, at the Pangting Astro Turf ground in Mon Village, Mon.

Addressing the gathering, Joint Secretary of the Nagaland Football Association, Sunep Longchar, acknowledged the Government of Nagaland for its relentless efforts to promote sports in the state. He added that such initiatives would foster wider peace and unity in the region and beyond.

Delivering a short speech on the theme “Football for Peace,” Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Wennyei Konyak (NCS), said the event would not only promote football but also strengthen peace, unity, and brotherhood across the Northeast. He expressed gratitude to the visiting team Aizawl FC, the Nagaland Football Association (NFA), and the Mon District Football Association (MDFA) for giving local football enthusiasts the opportunity to experience a high-level match through a friendly game against the home team, Mon XI FC.
