Friday, 5th June 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Langpangkong Students’ Conference (LKM) marked World Environment Day by conducting a large-scale cleanliness and conservation drive across all 19 villages under its jurisdiction. As part of this effort, each village cleaned and restored its ancestral well (known locally as Yimküm tzüpu), acknowledging the well’s cultural, historical, and environmental importance to the community.
In addition, the LKM organized a plantation drive along the Langpangkong highway stretch. Volunteers from Grace Society Changtongya, together with student representatives, planted tree saplings to promote environmental sustainability and greener surroundings.
The Conference stated that the initiative aimed to encourage community participation in preserving natural resources, foster environmental awareness, and strengthen collective responsibility toward protecting the ecosystem for future generations.
