Tuesday, June 16, 2026 (Nokinketer News): Governor of Nagaland, Nand Kishore Yadav, participated in the Self-Enumeration phase of Census 2027 at Lok Bhavan, Kohima, on 16th June 2026 and appealed to the people of the state to actively take part in this historic national exercise.

On the occasion, the Governor noted that Nagaland has joined the rest of the country in undertaking Census 2027 under the theme “My Census, My Development.” He highlighted that, for the first time, citizens can enumerate their households online during the self-enumeration period from 16 to 30 June 2026, marking a significant step towards a more citizen-centric and digitally enabled census process.

The Governor stated that Census 2027 is being conducted in a fully digital mode, making the exercise more efficient, inclusive, and accessible. He emphasized that as India progresses towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the Census will provide vital data for development planning and help ensure that government schemes and services reach every section of society. The information collected will support informed policy decisions in sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social welfare.

The Governor also acknowledged the dedication and commitment of more than 6,100 census officials deployed across Nagaland and urged them to carry out their responsibilities with sincerity, professionalism, and integrity.

Calling for collective participation, the Governor appealed to tribal Hohos, community organizations, village councils, colony authorities, and respected elders to extend their full support in making the census exercise a success.

“The census is not merely a count of people; it is a foundation for future planning and development,” the Governor said. He urged every citizen to participate wholeheartedly in the self-enumeration process and cooperate fully with census officials to ensure that every household and every individual is counted.

Reiterating the Census 2027 theme, the Governor called upon all citizens to contribute to building a stronger and more developed future through their participation in the national enumeration exercise.
