Wednesday, June 17, 2026 (Nokinketer News): The State Election Commission, Nagaland, has informed that the polling for the vacant seats at Ward 11 (Chaara) of Chumoukedima Town Council, Ward 8 (Tsumang ‘B’) of Wokha Town Council, and Ward 9 (Samba Ghoki) of Atoizu Town Council was successfully conducted on 16th June 2026. Ward 11 of Chumoukedima Town Council registered a voter turnout of 83.6% with 39.88% male voters and 43.72% female voters; Ward 8 of Wokha Town Council recorded a 69.5% voter turnout with 31.98% male voters and 37.52% female voters, while Ward 9 of Atoizu Council recorded a voter turnout of 96.41% with male voter participation at 50.77% and that of females at 45.64%.

The election at the said Ward under Chumoukedima Town Council was between KezhangutuoZhotso of BJP and NeichuuKuotsu of NPF; under the Wokha Town Council Ward, the contest was between MhomoHumtsoe of BJP and Ar. Aling Lotha of NPF; and the contest at the Atoizu town Council Ward was between G. Shikavi Kiba of NPF and Inaka Z. Chishi, Independent.

The polling was conducted peacefully and successfully in all the polling stations of the said wards. Counting of votes and declaration of results is scheduled on 19th June 2026 at the designated Counting Centers.
