



Mokokchung, 25th July 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Angetyongpang Development Board (ADB), in collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Government of Nagaland, launched the Livestock Insurance Scheme under the National Livestock Mission covering all villages under the 24 Angetyongpang Assembly Constituency in Mokokchung district. The launching programme was held at Mongsenyimti Village Community Hall on Saturday.
Speaking at the launch, MLA and Advisor for Water Resources, Tongpang Ozukum, described the initiative as a long-awaited programme that would help strengthen the rural economy of the constituency. He said the livestock insurance scheme would provide much-needed support to livestock owners and encouraged people to take full advantage of the scheme.
Director of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Dr. Kuokehebi Gwirie, presented an overview of the Livestock Insurance Scheme under the National Livestock Mission and later interacted with the participants.
The scheme aims to provide affordable insurance coverage for livestock owners with beneficiaries having to pay only 15 percent of the premium, while the remaining 85 percent will be subsidised by the Central and State Governments.
Earlier, Pastor of Mongsenyimti Baptist Church, Rev. L. Yanger, invoked God’s blessings. ADB member and retired CIC, I. Meyionen Jamir, delivered the welcome address, while ADB member Imlitoshi proposed the vote of thanks.
