According to a press release issued by the department, the initiative aims to strengthen coordination between the Fire Department and the public while enhancing fire safety awareness and preparedness among occupants of commercial and institutional establishments.
The programme will include live demonstrations of firefighting equipment, fire safety practices, use of fire extinguishers, LPG safety measures, mock and evacuation drills, demonstrations of in-built firefighting systems where available, and basic first-aid training.
The department has prepared a month-wise schedule for the campaign, with public and private banks to be covered in September 2026, government and private schools and colleges in October, market areas in November, and shopping complexes and malls in December.
Interested organisations have been asked to submit their requests to the nearest fire station on or before August 31, 2026.
The department stated that in case two or more applicants seek training during the same period, it reserves the right to conduct the programme at a venue of its choice.
