Chairing the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall, Jamir said officers should not confine themselves only to departmental responsibilities but should also take initiative in addressing issues affecting the district whenever required.

The meeting was attended by DISHA member and MLA Dr. Sukhato A. Sema, Deputy Commissioner and DISHA Member Secretary Dharam Raj, IAS, heads of departments and district officials.

Jamir said officers had an important responsibility towards the people and should make the best use of the authority vested in them for the district’s overall development. He appealed to all heads of offices to remain at their stations and serve the people sincerely.

Stating that the objective of DISHA meetings would be defeated if departmental heads were absent from their places of posting, the MP stressed the need for officers to remain accessible and responsive to public needs. He also urged them to exercise their authority responsibly and in the larger interest of the district.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Sukhato said the review was aimed at assessing the implementation of key centrally sponsored schemes and monitoring the progress of development programmes at the grassroots level. He stressed the need for close coordination among elected representatives, the district administration and line departments to ensure effective implementation of government schemes and improved public service delivery.

Dr. Sukhato appealed to the Deputy Commissioner to examine the matter and facilitate the effective utilisation of the FCI godown.

Earlier, welcoming the participants, Deputy Commissioner Dharam Raj said the primary objective of DISHA was to review, coordinate and monitor the implementation of various Central government schemes and development programmes in the district. He emphasised the need for effective coordination among departments to ensure that the benefits of government schemes reached the intended beneficiaries.
