Kohima, 21st August 2026 (Nokinketer News): Nagaland Governor and Chief Patron of the Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides (NSBSG), Nand Kishore Yadav, on Friday felicitated 58 Scouts and Guides—34 Guides and 24 Scouts—who received the Rajya Puraskar (Governor’s Award) at Lok Bhavan.

Congratulating the awardees, the Governor said the honour reflected their discipline, dedication and perseverance, and acknowledged the role of parents, teachers, Scout Masters and Guide Captains in their achievement.

He described the Bharat Scouts and Guides as a voluntary, non-political movement that nurtures responsible citizenship through service, discipline and leadership. Highlighting its growth in Nagaland since 1967, he said the movement instils values of teamwork, community service, courage and responsibility.

Encouraging the awardees to aim for the President’s Scout and Guide Certificate Award, Yadav said the Rajya Puraskar should be seen as a milestone rather than the destination. Stressing that “leadership begins with service,” he urged them to uphold honesty, punctuality, environmental responsibility and compassion while contributing to nation-building.

The Governor also called on the NSBSG to expand its reach, particularly in rural and remote areas, and appealed to schools, parents and community leaders to encourage greater participation in Scouting and Guiding.
