Mokokchung, 27th August 2026 (Nokinketer News): The monthly meeting of the Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held on August 27 at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner and DPDB vice-chairman, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS.
The meeting began with a review of the minutes of the previous meeting, followed by discussion on the Action Taken Report. The board approved the registration of two societies – Chuchuyimpang Students’ Union Society and Woods Foundation, Kumlong Ward.
The house also approved the change of nomenclature of Hills Night High School to Hills High School. It further cleared the shifting of the school from Arkong Ward to Nokra Compound, Chuchuyimpang.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Atsungba Walling briefed the board on the forthcoming Inter-Departmental Sports Meet, scheduled to be held from September 29 to October 1. He informed the house that a 24-member committee had already been constituted to oversee the event.
During the meeting, the District Project Officer, Land Resources Development (LRD), made a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the department’s activities and achievements. It was decided that the Horticulture Department would present its activities at the next monthly DPDB meeting.
