Mokokchung, 24th September 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Union, Mokokchung (ENPUM) has clarified that its public warning notice on objectionable and manipulated social media content, issued on September 18, had created misunderstanding and concern among the public. The statement was issued by ENPUM President Y. Among Yim and General Secretary Nohochem Sangtam.
The notice, bearing Ref. No. ENPUM/2026-09-2 and dated September 16, was subsequently clarified and withdrawn by ENPUM through another circular issued on September 21, bearing Ref. No. ENPUM/2026/9/03.
Following the development, the Ao Senden convened a joint meeting on September 23 at Aor Kilem through its official letter dated September 21.
ENPUM attended the meeting and held consultations with the concerned organisation. During the deliberations, ENPUM acknowledged its lapse in connection with the issuance of the earlier circular.
After a detailed discussion, both sides resolved the matter in a spirit of understanding, unity and reconciliation. They agreed to move forward together in the larger interest of peace, harmony and brotherhood, drawing from the values and legacy of their forefathers.
ENPUM expressed regret over the misunderstanding arising from the matter and stated that it was unfortunate and unintended.
The organisation appealed to the public to put the matter to rest and continue to uphold peace, harmony and brotherhood in the larger interest and welfare of the people.
