Mokokchung, 25th September 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Mangkolemba administration has issued an urgent public advisory warning residents against consuming liquor from unknown, unauthorised or suspected adulterated sources amid a public health alert over spurious liquor.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mangkolemba, Moakumzuk Tzudir, in the advisory issued on September 24, urged the public to exercise extreme caution and refrain from consuming liquor whose source or authenticity is doubtful.
The administration has particularly cautioned against liquor obtained from unauthorised or suspected sources, stressing the need for immediate medical attention in case of adverse symptoms following consumption.
According to the advisory, anyone experiencing gastric pain, dizziness, blurred vision, breathing difficulties, severe headache or loss of consciousness after consuming liquor should immediately seek medical assistance and inform the nearest medical centre, police station or concerned authority.
The public has also been urged to share credible information with the administration or nearest police station regarding the sale of adulterated liquor within Mangkolemba Sub-Division.
The advisory follows the public health alert circulated by the Mangkolemba Community Health Centre concerning the consumption of suspected spurious liquor.
