Shillong, 6th October 2026 (Nokinketer News): The North Eastern Council (NEC) released ₹42.63 crore in September 2026 for development projects across the North Eastern Region, including ₹11.92 crore for Nagaland.

Of the total release, ₹35.21 crore was allocated to the North Eastern States, while ₹7.42 crore went to regional institutions and agencies for capacity building, infrastructure and technology.

Nagaland’s allocation will support Cluster-Based Coffee Value Chain Development and construction of a Cultural Activity Complex at Pfutseromi Village for the Chakhesang community.

Mizoram received ₹6.29 crore, Assam ₹4.42 crore, Sikkim ₹4.17 crore and Arunachal Pradesh ₹3.40 crore. Tripura and Manipur also received instalments for ongoing development projects.

Among regional institutions, NECBDC received ₹2.88 crore for bamboo artisan clusters, NEHHDC ₹2.35 crore for handloom skill development and NECTAR ₹1.24 crore for STEM laboratories in remote schools.

The NEC also recorded the completion and closure of 14 major infrastructure projects worth ₹45.48 crore during September, covering education, culture, agriculture, skills, tourism and community development across the region.

The initiatives are part of NEC’s continuing efforts under the Ministry of DoNER to strengthen infrastructure, employment opportunities and development across the Northeast.
