(7 conferred MAT award for academic excellence)

August 8 (www.nokinketer.com): The 30th presentation ceremony of the Mayangnokcha Awards for Academic Excellence was held at Town Hall, Mokokchung, on August 8, 2023, under the aegis of the Mayangnokcha Award Trust (MAT).
The Guest of Honour on the occasion, Temjenmenba MLA and Advisor, Govt. of Nagaland, who is also the grandson of Mayangnokcha, mentioned in his address the sheer determination and efforts of Mayangnokcha to bring a change to his people through education, which was his vision. The challenges he might have faced during his time would have been many, but his determination, single-minded focus, and vision to succeed in his goal are values that all young achievers and like-minded students should try to emulate to succeed in life, he added.
He also said Education is not all about classroom learning; it also encompasses learning from parents, teachers, and predecessors about values, which determine the true aspect of an educated society. He also challenged the young achievers and students by saying that, in this contemporary world, the onus of responsibilities is on their shoulders, and they should therefore act as torchbearers to bring about the desired changes in our society.
Earlier in the programme, Dr. Sunep Imchen, CVO, Mokokchung, and member of MAT, on behalf of the Trust, exhorted the gathering with an eulogy of Mayangnokcha and also the vision of MAT to perpetuate the memory and works of late Mayangnokcha, thereby including the same sense of vision and destiny among our people in all sparers of profession.
