

Mokokchung, 23rd April, 2026 (www.nokinketer.in): The closing programme of Poshan Pakhwada 2026, which commenced on April 9 under the theme “Maintaining Brain Development in the First 6 Years of Life,” was held on Wednesday at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Mokokchung. The event was organised by the Department of Social Welfare, Mokokchung.
Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, in his address, appreciated the efforts of the department’s officials and field workers for successfully carrying out various activities under the programme. He lauded their dedication in implementing schemes and policies and encouraged them to continue working with the same commitment for the welfare of society.
Highlighting the importance of early childhood development, the DC stressed the crucial role of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) in enhancing awareness on nutrition. He also urged ASHA and Anganwadi workers to further strengthen and effectively activate their respective centres.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner felicitated the best-performing Anganwadi Workers. The awardees included Ms. Sashilemla of Changtongya Village Centre (C) under Changtongya ICDS Project and Ms. Lanusangla of Anungchen Centre, Khar Village under Mangkolemba ICDS Project.
The programme was chaired by Arienla, Supervisor of Ongpangkong North. Imliyanger, District Programme Officer (ICDS), delivered the welcome address, while Meyalemla, CDPO Ongpangkong North, presented a brief highlight of the 8th Poshan Pakhwada 2026. The vote of thanks was proposed by Sunepwapang, CDPO Ongpangkong South.
