Mokokchung, 7th May, 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE), Kohima, has announced that the HSLC and HSSLC Compartmental and Improvement Examinations will be conducted from June 9 to June 20, 2026.

The notification follows earlier directives issued via Notification No. 26/2026 and No. 30/2026, both dated April 24, 2026.

Online Application Details

Eligible candidates are required to fill out application forms online through the NBSE portal at nbsenl.edu.in from May 11 to May 16, 2026. The examination fees are as follows:

HSLC: ₹600 per subject

HSSLC: ₹650 per subject

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate who successfully passed the main HSLC/HSSLC Examination 2026, or qualified in the main examinations but failed in one subject, is eligible to appear for the Improvement Examination. Improvement of performance is permitted only once.

The Board has clarified that any candidate who fails to submit the application for the Compartmental/Improvement Examination 2026 will not be eligible to appear for the HSLC/HSSLC Examinations 2027 for performance improvement.

Guidelines for Heads of Institutions

Heads of institutions must carefully verify the application forms and ensure timely payment. Students are required to surrender their original Admit Card and Marksheet to the school or examination centre where their forms are being verified. These documents will be forwarded to the Board by the institution.

Schools or centres may submit the original Admit Card and Marksheet directly to the NBSE office or send them via registered post no later than May 30, 2026.
