
Mokokchung, 13th May, 2026 (Nokinketer News): The monthly District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) meeting for Mokokchung District took place at the DC’s Conference Hall under the chairmanship of MLA and DPDB Chairman Nuklutoshi Longkumer. The session began with a felicitation ceremony led by the Chairman.
Top academic performers from Class X and Class XII in the district were honored for their outstanding achievements. Additionally, the Cleanest Ward Award for 2025-2026 was officially presented to the winning ward.
Following the review and approval of the previous meeting’s minutes and action report, the board passed two significant development proposals. These included the registration recommendation for the M.I. Small Tea Growers Cooperative Society, Saringyim, under Society Registration, and the upgradation of Green Hills Public School, Chuchuyimlang, from Middle Section to High School under Educational Expansion.
The board also engaged in detailed discussions about hosting the 25th edition of the Dr. T. Ao Trophy scheduled for October 2026. Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, called on all departments and members to offer full cooperation to ensure the event’s success.
The Deputy Commissioner updated the house on the recent DCs’ Conference held in Kohima, emphasizing the need for inter-departmental coordination and efficient resource management. He also announced plans to introduce a ‘District Teachers Award’ to recognize exemplary educators.
Principal of Fazl Ali College, Mokokchung, shared the college’s recent accomplishments and sought continued support from the board.
