
Mokokchung, 1st June, 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Watsü Mungdang, the apex body of the Ao women organization has strongly condemned the alleged sexual assault of a minor in Dimapur, expressing deep concern over the disturbing nature of the case.
Following the recent arrest of the second accused, Mr. Tsuktimongba, son of Lt. Supongmeren from Süngratsü Village, along with the earlier arrest of Mr. O. Watimeren Jamir, son of Lt. Opangtiba from Unger Village, the organization has reiterated its demand for a thorough, impartial, and time-bound investigation. They emphasized the need to ensure that all individuals involved are brought to justice in accordance with the law.
The Watsü Mungdang stated that crimes against children are an attack on the very fabric of society and cannot be tolerated under any circumstances. The organization stands in unwavering solidarity with the victim and her family and urges all sections of society to unite in protecting the rights, dignity, and safety of every child.
The WM also pledged to closely monitor the progress of the case and continue to demand complete justice. The statement was jointly signed by Wt. T. Narola Longchar, General Secretary, and Wt. Tianaro Jamir, President of Watsü Mungdang.
