Mokokchung, 22nd June, 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Langpangkong Students’ Conference (LKM) celebrated its 78th Foundation Day at Chuchuyimlang Town Hall, the organisation’s headquarters, on June 22, commemorating 78 years of service towards the welfare, unity and advancement of the student community and the people of Langpangkong. The commemorative programme was graced by Ao Senden President, Marsanen Imsong, as the guest of honour.
A major highlight of the celebration was the presentation of the Lt. L. Pangersowa Trust Award for Academic Excellence, instituted in memory of one of LKM’s founding pioneers, Late L. Pangersowa Jamir. The award recognises outstanding academic achievers from the Langpangkong range and aims to inspire students to pursue excellence in their educational endeavours.
This year’s recipient, Miss Imnayangla of Unger Village, was honoured with a citation and cash award in recognition of her exemplary performance in the HSLC examination. The award also serves as an encouragement to students to strive for academic excellence, in line with the vision upheld by the trust.
Founded on June 22, 1948, LKM traces its origins to a group of visionary leaders who came together with the objective of promoting educational and social progress among the youth of the range.
The programme further featured special presentations, tributes to the founding fathers of LKM, and messages from various organisations and well-wishers.
Marking the occasion, LKM reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing responsible youth leadership, preserving the rich heritage of Langpangkong, and contributing meaningfully to society through education, service and community engagement.
