Mokokchung, July 24 (Nokinketer News): The 1st edition of High School Futsal Tournament, organised by the 35+ Mokokchung Football League (MFL), concluded on Friday at Mojabi Futsal Turf, Mokokchung, after a three-day competition that began on July 22.

A total of 27 teams participated in the tournament, with Revenant FC (A) emerging champions after a dominant 10-1 victory over Eden School in the final. United Boys FC secured third place.

The tournament also recognised outstanding individual performers. Langa of Revenant FC was named Player of the Tournament, while teammate Imliwar claimed the Highest Scorer Award with 11 goals. Nungshilong of GMS Tongdentsuyong was adjudged Best Defender, while Metsuro of Revenant FC and Lensar of KSA shared the Most Promising Young Player award. Badal of Revenant FC received the Best Goalkeeper award.

The champions, runners-up and individual award winners received cash prizes, trophies and certificates.

The closing ceremony was graced by N. Chuba Phom as the special guest. In his address, he commended the organisers for providing a platform to nurture young football talent and encouraged the participants to make the most of such opportunities.

Congratulating the 35+ MFL for its initiative and dedication, Chuba urged the young players to accept both victory and defeat with maturity and to take collective responsibility rather than assigning blame.

He also advised aspiring footballers to refrain from age tampering and manipulation, stressing the importance of honesty and integrity in sports. Encouraging the participants to cultivate humility and resilience, he urged them to stay away from ego, pride and negative attitudes while setting a positive example for future generations.

The closing programme was chaired by Aoluin, with the invocation prayer offered by Wati Imsong. The vote of thanks was delivered by Imcharen Lusang, Secretary 35+ MFL.
