
Monday, 27 July 2026 (Nokinketer News): The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has informed all heads of institutions that applications have been invited for the Vidyadhan Scholarship Programme of the Sarojini Damodaran Foundation (SDF), a non-profit organisation established by Infosys co-founder and former CEO S.D. Shibulal and patron Kumari Shibulal.
According to an NBSE notification, the scholarship programme aims to support the higher education of meritorious students from economically disadvantaged families. Students are selected after passing the HSLC examination through a rigorous selection process.
Selected students will initially receive a scholarship of Rs. 10,000 per year for Classes 11 and 12. Those who maintain good academic performance will be eligible for scholarships ranging from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 75,000 per year to pursue degree courses. The programme also offers soft skills training and career counselling.
To be eligible, applicants must have passed the HSLC Examination 2026 from Nagaland with at least 70% marks or an A+ grade in all subjects. Students with disabilities are eligible with a minimum of 60% marks. The annual family income of applicants should not exceed Rs. 3 lakh.
Eligible students can apply online through the Vidyadhan portal or the SDF Vidya mobile application between April 29 and August 31, 2026.
NBSE has requested all registered government and private schools in the state to disseminate the information and encourage eligible students to avail of the scholarship opportunity.
