Monday, 27 July 2026 (Nokinketer News): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Longleng has informed that the road connecting Longleng and Mokokchung is now motorable for Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) through an alternate route.

According to a travel advisory issued by the DC, commuters travelling between Longleng and Mokokchung have been advised to use the route: Longleng – Auching – Shangjen – Momching – Phampak – Yangpi – Noksen – Longmisa – NH-2 – Mokokchung.

The advisory stated that the total distance of the route is approximately 105 km.

However, travellers have been urged to exercise caution while using the route and remain alert for possible landslides, mudslides and flash floods.

In case of any emergency or assistance, travellers may contact the Village Council Chairmen (VCCs), Head GBs or Village Disaster Management Authorities (VDMAs) of the villages along the route.
